AMERICAN CHURCHES’ ATTITUDE RESTRICTION URGED. Frees Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, February 27. (Received February 28, at 10.50 a.ra.) The committee of the Federal Council of Churches has urged Mr Coolidge to aid iu restricting the naval programmes of the world Powers. Dr M'Fariand, the council’s general secretary, said that the council deprecated the American programme since it jeopardised the United States’ proposals for peace, and also cost too much.
