HIGHWAYS BOARD HAS NO POWER [Pen Uarrsp Passe Assocutios.] WELLINGTON, February 21. An information laid by the Main Highways Board against N. G. Newman, lorry driver, of Levin, of having driven a lorry on the Horokiwi GorgePaekakariki road with a load exceeding the weight allowed for the road, was dismissed by Mr E. Page, S.M. The road had been classified by the board, but Mr Page held that the power of classifying roads did not lie with the board, but witli the Gover-nor-General. and the road had never been properly classified.
