Tho fortnightly meeting of Ivanhoe Lodge was held on Wednesday evening, Bro. F. E. Reeves presiding; oyer a fair attendance of members and visitors. Two candidates were initiated into tho order. Three propositions for membership were also received. An informal discussion took place on the Grand Lodge order paper, the main points of which were held over until quarter night. The loyal toasts were' responded to on behalf 'of the visitors by P.A. Bro. Rnshbridge. It was resolved to visit Lily of the Valley Lodge officially at its next meeting and play for the euchre shield. The following brethren 'contributed to tho harmony of the evening:—Bros. J. T. Faulds, A. T. Smith, W. T. Gray. J. Sinclair, J. Simmons, W. Rnshbridge, J. Brockie, T. Borrow. C. H. Wilson, and J. Reeves. The meeting of Royal Oak Lodge was held in the lodge room, Cavefsbam, A.D. Bro. T. Clark presiding. Four candidates were initiated as members of the order, and two names were also proposed for membership. Secretary Bro. Churchill reported on the meeting of the Booklet Committee, and also presented the balance-sheet for the past year. Bro. Hunt submitted a. report on the last meeting of the Juvenile Executive Committee. The Grand Lodge order paper was discussed, the delegates receiving their instructions how to act. Secretary Bro. H. Brockie (Ivanhoe) and P.A. Bro. Avery_ (Otago) replied to the- toast of the visitors.
