[Peb United Press Association.!

HAMILTON, February 17. A bush fire which started in the vicinity of the Raglan Saw-railling Company’s mill at Hutiwai, got out of control yesterday, and in spite of the desperate efforts of the employees, destroyed the mill and a quantity of sawn timber. Two dwellings occupied by two of the partners in the concern— Messrs W. Munro and J. shared the fate of the mill. The mill is situated near the west coast about four miles south of Raglan. It was only a small enterprise, worked by eight men, and the dwellings were not pretentious structures. Th total damage is estimated at £7OO, including £2OO worth of sawn timber. Last night the fire died down considerably, but attacked the standing bush on the property of Mr M. F. Andrews, whose house was threatened.
