WELLINGTON, February 7. The Government is advised that a limited number of cadetships to the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, are available to young New Zealanders on the nomination of the Go-vernor-General.
These cadetships arc granted for the purpose of training officers for the British Regular Army, and applications will bo considered from only those gentlemen who wish to make the Army their permanent profession in life. Definite regulations governing the admission of candidates by nomination to the colleges have been laid down by the Army Council, and only those candidates who fulfil these conditions will be eligible for nomination. The cadetships are not open to sons of parents whose connection with New Zealand is merely temporary or official.
The course of instruction lasts lor eighteen months, and the next course begins on September 1. Applications must bo in by February 10. The candidates must be between eighteen and nineteen years on July 1. Parents have to pay the cost of the passage to England, fees amounting to £125 per annum, and personal expenses during vacations.
