Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, September LL Tho Wireless Commission’s report does not recommend Government ownership or management of broadcasting. Conditional upon Amalgamated Wireless agreeing to certain specific condit ions, it recommends the Commonwealth to acquire the shares privately held in the company, and that prior to the acquisition of such shares tho company should take slops to obtain a decision on the validity of its papers. Proposals arc made for a reduction in patent and copyright charges and for the benefit to go to the listcners-in in the shape of reduced license fees. It recommends tho Government _to appoint a wireless committee, consisting of tho Director of Postal Services as chairman and other two_ members with special knowledge of wireless, to deal with wireless problems generally throughout tho Commonwealth. Tins the Commission regarded as necessary owing to the increased volume of w ireless communication and broadcasting. Another recommendation is the alteration of wave lengths. _ Regarding beam wireless, tho Commission says that differences have arisen between the Federal Post Office and tho directors of Ream regarding the payment or terminal and other charges. The Commission recommends that the_ company pay the terminal charges, fading winch the Government is urged to take control of the beam service. It is inrthcr recommended that lor tho protection of tho interests of newspapers iti news broadcasting stations shall not transmit nows from newspapei without the consent in writing of tho proprietors of the newspaper and upon payment of the fees fixed for the use ol such service, , , Tho associations for the development of wireless in Australia and New Zealand will ask Mr Rrueo to have the recommendations brought into opciation immediately.
