MEETING OF ASSOCIATION, ’ There .was a, large attendance of members at last night’s meeting of the University Ex-students’ Association, when the president (Mr W. Brown) was in the chair. Mr Paterson, a member of the Society of Accountants, was present, 'and in his speech he stressed, tho value of tho work-carried out by the association in fitting its members for the duties of life. Tho election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows-Presi-dent, Mr P. Smcllic; vice-chairman, Mr S. Cameron; vice-presidents— Messrs G. W. Reid, C. T. Lee, J. Hogg, A. C. Cameron, W. Brown, and Dr Fisher; commit fee Messrs 1), L. Brown, G. S. Kirby. J. Spiro, N. Brown, R. Free, R, Hardy, J. Boardman,and M. Giant; secretary, Mr L. SattertlnvaiLc; and treasurer, Mr Coding. During the evening recitations were given by Messrs Dali ami Dentford, a monologue, ‘ Why Dili They Mutilate the Car?’ by Mr P. Smcllic, and selections from leading speakers in New Zealand, America, and Australia on a gramophone. Alter several stories had boon told by members the meeting closed with a vole of thanks to the performers, which was carried by acclamation.
