C.T. ASSOCIATION DAY

Ou Saturday evening a social was held in the clubrooms to celebrate the 14th anniversary of Association Day of the United Travellers and 'Warehousemen's Association of Now Zealand. The members and lady friends were received by the president, Mr J. r I. Gillan, and the secretary, Mr George Davidson. The musical programme was of a varied character, and thoroughly enjoyable. Along with the Entertainers’ Choir, who rendered four of their part-songs, was Begg’s Orchestra, under the conductorship of Mr James Himburg. whose rendering of ‘ I,n a Persian Garden,’ ‘Polina,’ and ‘March Out’ was excellent. Miss Stella Bayley gave a violin solo, the other lady performers being Miss Mollie Andrews and Mrs C. Penman, all of whose numbers were well received. A duet by Misses Fogarty and Healv, with a humurous item by Mr A. Clapp and a musical monologue by Mr A. Holmes, made up -a pleasant evening’s entertainment, following upon which a light supper was given. Prior to the concert, the president referred to the benefits and objects of the association in a few well chosen words. Air G. J. Scott was the musical director and Mr A. L. Burk accompanist.
