THE LAND BOARD.

The adjourned meeting of tho Land Board was held this morning, and was attended by Messrs Maitland (Chief Commissioner), Clark, Duncan, Green, M'Kenzie, and Bradshaw.

Mr H. B. Smith, for T. O'Donnell, asked permission to occupy about thirty acres of the mining reserve between section 12, l>loek 10, Shotover, and the holding of D. O'Foe at Id per aero.—Referred to the Ranger for a report. R. Wilson requested the Board to group suburban deferred-payment sections 26 and 27, block 14, Chatton.—The application was declined. W. R. Thornhill asked that the rent of Run 257, Slopedown, should be reduced and a longer term of lease granted, or that he should be allowed to abandon the run.—The application was recommended for tho favorable consideration of the Government. Mary Ann M'Namara applied for a de-ferred-payment license oyer section 11, block 4, Swinburn.— Granted. The Chief Commissioner brought before the Board a plan of block 13, Moeraki, with a view to having the land dealt with.—lt was resolved to recommend the Government to set apart for sale on deferred payments section 14, and to open the remainder, excepting bush reserves, for application at Li per acre. J. A. Kirk having fulfilled the conditions With respect to surrender of Run 389, the Chief Commissioner requested the Board to fix the term of tho rental. —It was resolved to recommend the Governor-in-Council to offer the run for twenty-one years at LSO.

G. Broad asked that section 22, block 90, Oamaru town district, should be put up for sale shortly. Section to be offered at auction at L2O, with valuation of LlO for improvements, with the approval of the Government.

It was resolved to offer section 5, block 55, Tuapeka, at auction, at L 195, with valuation to the extent of L 2,500, for the mill thereon, subject; to the approval of tho government.
