MR J.K. EMMET.
The exponent of "Fritz" will make his bow to a Dunedin audience at the Princess's this evening, in the character which has made his name famous. A perusal of the criticisms of the leading journals of London and Australia leave no doubt in the mind of the reader that we are about to become acquainted with one whose versatility is equalled by his originality as a character actor, and who it is certain, if he but fulfils half of the expectations formed of him, have no difficulty in establishing himself as a firm favorite. The secret of Mr Emmett's successes is told by "Lord Dundreary" in the following characteristic letter': A line or two before I go to bed, just to express m a mild way how much I was impressed with your performance to-night. My opinion may be of little value, but it is square and honest. Byron and I were charmed with your acting throughout. It is full of repose, full of humor, full of lovely touches of pathos. Sometimes an artist cares for another artist's opinion, sometimes not. I run the risk, and give you mine and Byron's. Bslieve me, youia E. A. SOTHEBV.
