CAVERSHAM.

To the Editor. §ta,—-In your report of the asking at Caversham, r< the diversion of the stream of water running through the above township, it reads as though I was n>ing the stream for brewing purposes. I beg to state that such is not the case, as I have a splendid spring well which meets my requirements in that respect, and this my neighbors all know. Generally speaking, breweries are built on ..creeks or running streams for wash-down purposes. Most running streams would be ruinous t« any brewer, as they contain animal and vegetable matter ; therefore spring and rain water are what the brewer depends upon. I object to my rights being taken away from me for _ two reasons : Ist. Having bought this property with the oreek running through it, why should I give up my rights to benefit a certain brick property recently erected?. Lastly, I object as a ratepayer. This L 250 might be spent for other purposes in this district that need it. My next door neighbor but one—another objector—who lived on the banks of this stream for seventeen or eighteen years, challenged the inspector, as to the health and cleanliness of our immediate locality. Let the Road Board <lo their part, and keep the rest clean if it is otherwise.—l am, &c, E. W. Cocheah. Daversham, October 30.
