Auckland, October 12. The Omaramutu Hotel, Opoti&i, has been burnt. ,It. was insured in the Norwich Union for L 250, and its contents for L 450. Kelson, October 12. ' Larrikinism has been 'increasing here of late to a serious extent, and on Tuesday at midnight three boys, sons of respectable citizens, were discovered in the shop' of Mr Jackson, stationer,' which they entered by means of a skeleton key. A cash-box which had been left empty at the closing of the shop was found to have been tampered with. The prisoners were brought • before the Magistrate to-day, and committed for trial. ■ , Wellington, Octobejr 13. Mr G. E. Barton appeared befbre the Chief Justice this morning to receive sentence for contempt of Conrt. His Honor, after pointing put the gravity of the offence of Mr Barton, and how. severely it was in the power of the Court fo punish such offences, discharged the rule without inflicting any penalty. Nelson, October 13. . Arrangements have been made with Mr Bennett for visit of- the English Eleven on the same terms as made with* other places.
