AUSTRALIAN NEWS.
Syddey, September 27. The Government intend to prosecute the constables who shot the Roman Catholic clergyman on the border. The schooner Atlantic, recently found bottom up, was righted yesterday. The body of a man, and two hands and feet were found in the cabin. Other bodies are supposed to be in the forecastle.
The body of a woman was seen last night floating off Jervis Bay—supposed to be one of the passengers of the Dandenong.
The Government do not intend to entertain Messrs Green's proposal for a line of steamers via the Cape. The incoming mail steamer left San Francisco on the 13th, contract date. Arrived: Easby, from New Zealand.
Sailed : Otago, for New Zealand. The Albion left Melbourne to-day for New Zealand.
