CAVERSHAM ROAD BOARD.
Thjs JBoard met in the school-room last night, when tlr-re were present—Messrs Rutherford (in the chair), Bridgman, Langmuir, Wilson, 13'Ren, and Jackson. A letter was received from Mr Machin complaining of the state of Maria street, Caversham, and requesting the Board to form a footpath opposite bis and Mr Haggerty's properties andleading to the chureh. The Board authorised the inspector to form the footpath as requested.— The inspector wbb also authorised to proceed with the footpaths and drainage at Kensington, and to pnt a covered drain in front of Mr Peter Rutherford's new store at Caversham, Mr Ratherford Uj pay one-half of the cost of the latter. The closing of the sand pits on the Porbury read op« posite Mr M'lndoe's property was also ordered.--A lette' was read from the St. Eilda Town Council asking the Board to agree to bear the one-half of the cost of boundary roads, to which the Clerk was instructed to reply, asking if the Council included the portion of the Forbury road alonside the Burgh boundary.—A memorial was received, numerously signed by ratepayers in Caversham, asking the Board to devise some means to take the water flowing from the tunnel into the township. Messrs Bridgman and Wilson and the Inspector were appointed to visit the spring in the tunnel and to report to next meeting.—The Clerk was instructed to advertise for tenders for L 2.000 at the end of the thirty days'notice to the rat payers, and to write to J. S. Webb that the Board was informed that the sections he was laying off at Kensington were encroaching on the road line, and if so, to remove them off it.—The Board then adjourned.
