The voyage of the Balnaquitb, which arrived at tho Bluff on Monday from London, was an eventful one. She first set sail on March 1, and while waiting in the Channel for a fair wind had a large American schooner blown across her bows, 4he result being that she was dismasted, and had to put back for a month for repairs. On April £9 she again took her departure, and for eight we ks met with a succession of gales, which culminated in one of hurricane force on July 8, when tho vessel shipped a vwy heavy sea, which strained her decks, causing leaks in some parts of them.. The carpenter was at once set to work, caulking the decks wher. ever the leaks were discovered. After this had pleasant weather, which continued until the 16th, when during a severe galea sea broke over the ship, tearing the tarpaulin off the hatch, which w is battened down again as soon as possible, the ship con. tinually filling with water on both sides. Shipped another very heavy sea on the 18th, which stove in the companion and filled the cabin with water. Was then obliged to keep the ship away before the wind during the remainder of the gale, which abated on the 20th. Moderate breezes and fine weather then continued till arrival.
