Sir, —Of all the ridiculous exhibitions that have been made for a long time, the most ridiculous is that which Mr Stout made of himself in the house the other night, on his «wn account darkly half insinuating a civil war on behalf of Otago. When J read the speech I was not ' frightened, I was not ' Winged, I only felt a litto sick and sorry. But’the really, painfyj .part of the business , Was that the distinguished statesmen who ftplied to the ridiculous tail-talk took it in earnest.
