Partner, late in the A.S.P. Company’s service. He was only in his thirtieth year, but has been ailing for some months, compelling him to relinquish command of the s.s. Star of the South. He has made two or three trips lately South as coast pilot on board tne Pacific ipail steamers, but was compelled to give up that post through ill health. On the last up trip from Lyttelton to Wellington the Bingarooma did the distance in IShrs. lOmin. Captain M'Lnan tel’s the‘Post’ that he could do it easily within the twelve hours if there was any necessity for pnshing his vessel. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS.
