Monday, June 12. Before V. Pyke, and A. Mercer; Esq.,

Drunkenness. —Patrick Cooney, John Sutherland, James McLennan, James M‘Galium, Daniel Tierney, Mary M ‘Donald, and William Hanley were all fined ss, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment; Thomas Sinclair, 20s, or seven days.

Vagrancy. —Mary Allen, a prostitute, was sent to gaol for one month lor riotous behaviour.

Obscene Language.;— James Keys, for using obscene language in Maobin’s right-of-way, was fined 10s, in default three days’ imprisonment.-—Thomas Tiernay, changed with using obscene language in Stafford street, admitted the offence, bnt conducted himself somewhat boisterously while in the dock.—Mr Pyke : I have a good mind to commit you for contempt of Court.—Accused : Well, you can if you like—(Laughter) —Mr Pyke; You are fined 20s, or one week’s imprisonment.-—Accused (shaking his bead at the constable); He ought to be fined instead of mp.
