Monday, Junk 12. - (Before T. A. Mansfofd, Esq., R^(.) Drunkenness. —Jos. Renner was charged with being drunk and disorderly in George street*.on used . not guilty, and stated that he had been very much abused while in the lock-up.—Con-stable Murphy deposed: About 10 o’clock and using very indecent language. I arrested him, whence be'came very violent, iand~it required three of the force tq ( take him to the ,lock-up. fey the iccused ; We : were compelled to knpbk you down iq order to handcuff yon. —Sergeant the prisoner was very violent and abusive, and attempted to bite Me refused to be searched or to have his boots taken off; By the accused : Witness did not attempt to [throttle - Mm or otherwise 'ill-treat hinu, > Sis Worship said he' would' remand the ac’chsed ([who was out onbail) (dr one week, in order that inquiries, might be. made as. to the treatment he had met with at the hands of the police. , S
