THE ODDFELLOWS' CONCERT.

To the Editor: Sir, —When it is known that some of the best available vocal talent will give their services at the new Oddfellows* Hall, Albany street, on the evening of the Queen** Birthday, starting at 8 p.m., would it not be judicious on the part ef the committee of the Benevolent Institution to have their concert on that day up to 6 p.m., instead of 10 p.m., so as not to clash with the abovef Your correspondent has conclusive grounds to believe that this act of graceful concession will secure the committee the cordial support of a large body in our community to the object they have in view, which will otherwise be alienated through the present gradual ill-feeling that is being indirectly fermented.—l am, Ac.,

An Oddfellow of the Independent Order. Dunedin, May 17.
