CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

An adjourned meeting of the Chamber of Commerce was held this afternoon to consider a communication from the Melbourne Chamber respecting the establishment of tribunals of commerce, and also to consider the desirability of recommending improvements in the Debtors and Creditors Act, 1875. There was a good attendance. With respect to the first subject the following resolution was agreed to : - “ That Messrs W. H, Reynolds, Peter Logan, and' J. S. Webb be appointed a sub-committee to report to the Chamber on the subject of tribunals of commerce.” After a short discussion the following resolution was also agreed to :—“ That Messrs R. Wilson, J. 0. Eva, R. H. Leary, T. S. Graham, and J. S. Webb be appointed a committee to report to the Chamber on the subject of existing bankrupt law.”
