Thursday, May 4. (Before J. Bathgate, Esq., R.M.)

Stamper v. the Corporation of Dnnedin.— The Town Clerk (Mr Massey) applied for a re-hearing of this case on the ground that the plaintiff had accepted payment and consented to withdraw the summons before the case was heard.—Mr Lewis : We make no objection to the re hearing, your Worship. —The re-hearing was fixed for Monday. Thomas L. Brown v. Alfred Stacey.— Claim, 19s 6d, fowls lent and balsam supplied.—This case arose from a neighbor’s quarrel,—The defendant having stated his willingness to return the fowls, his Worship gave judgment for the plaintiff for os and costs.

Claim L 9 9s 4d, goods supplied. Mr Aldridge appeared for the plaintiff, for whom judgment was given, with costs. Briscoe and Co. v. Thomson.—Claim Ll3 Is Bd. Judgment for plaintiff, with costs.

Samuel M. Clark v. James Brown (Anderson’s Bay).—Claim 11s 9d, school fees and books supplied to the defendant’s son. Though the defendant swore that his sou had not been to school during the quarter mentioned in the particulars, his own certificate flatly contradicting his present statement was produced. He acknowledged the signature. He appeared to be quite overjoyed in preventing the attendance of his son, who had been personally subpoenaed by the plaintiff. Judgment was given for the plaintiff, with costs. Barbare Allan v. Margaret Thomson.— Claim LI IGs, money lent. Judgment was given for Ll 10s, to be paid by weekly instalments of 5s each.
