At a public meeting at Naseby on Tuesday the following resolutions were carried : —“That, in the opinion of this meeting, a great part of the 23,000 acres cancelled on Mr Watson Sbennan’s run, No. 247, is lit for future settlement in mixed farms, and that its sale in one block would destroy the value of the whole run of over 70,000 acres, except to the purchaser of the block; and that the Board be respectfully requested to postpone its decision of any application before
A public meeting at Hyde has requested the Progress Committee there to write to the Provincial Secretary, asking him to open for settlement, without further delay, the laud long sought for on the Strathtaieri block, so that the people of Hyde, who are anxiously desirous of being placed on the land, may be enabled to commence cultivating in the ensuing spring.”
