OTAGO ELEVEN v. NEXT FIFTEEN.

This match, commenced on the 19th nit., liras resumed on the Southern Oral this afternoon. OnU the first day of the match the eleven kept posse*-;? sion of the wickets the whole day, putting together i the fine total of 185. Lost Saturday the fifteen were disposed of .in their first innings for. 92 runs, and had .loot eight wickets Jn their second for 74.. The game, was resumed to* day, and two wickets soon fell without materially - adding to the score. A one inning’s defeat was, however, averted, Meares and P. Fulton getting together and giving the fieldsmen plenty of work. The innings terminated for 101, the fifteen playing two men short. Meares wins Tart's hat to the highest scorer in the fifteen, making <53 in the two - innings.
