THE NEW TELEGRAPH OFFICE.

The new Telegraph Office, for the building of which we yesterday stated Die contract haw been token, is to occupy the present vacant site next to the Custom House, an 4 will have frontages to Bond street, High street, and at the angle facing the Bail way Station. It will contain a large desk with twelve stalls for writing telegrams for trane. mission, with a counter for the clerks and a screen for exhibiting shipping telegrams upon, with all other necessary conveniences. The counter clerks’ department will communicate with the instrument room, which will be in the back part Of thepremises, and this Will also communicate with the head messenger's room, immediately , opposite the High street-door. The first floor will contain the Inspector's room and ladies’ room, with another instrument room over the one below. The fittings will be of the most suitable description, and somewhat elaborately ornamental, while at the same time convenience for conducting business has been carefully studied. As before stated, there may be said to be three fronts, Each will be Construe tod in a similar style, and ornamented with Corinthian pillars, of which the superstructure will form the entablature. The facade, in fact, will have very much the appearance of the Union Bank in Princes street, varied, as a matter ot course, to suit the position and form of the building.
