RETURN OF THE OTAGO MARKSMEN.
The Otago representatives who took part in the Cplonial prize-firing returned by the Lady bird to-day, and were met at Port Chalmers by Capt. Stavely and staff. Capt. Wales, Acting-Adjutant Douglas, and others, met them on their arrival in Du edin. On passing through Tokomairiro this evening, the champion and his fellow-representa-tives from the Clutha will be met by the Bruce rifles uniform aud he ded by the Tokomaigiro brassband. The two Clutha companies have entered heai tily into the propo a’ to give Messrs Wiilocks, B.ackie. and Andeson a prop r reception. <in Tuesday next they are to be entertained at a supper and ball; snd if it could be ar anged to have a spreid train from town on that occa ion, we have no doubt many members of the City companies would be present. We comme.id the suggestion to the C utha Reception Management Committee.
