INTERPROVINCIAL CRICKET MATCH.

Friday, Jamjary 21. Play was to have been resumed at eleven o’clock this morning, but owing to several of the Otago team failing to put in an appearance at the appointed time, it was quite half-an-hour later before the first ball was delivered. P.iramor’s first ball was a wide, and from his second Ollivier scored a single, fowler made a brace from the same bowler ; and both batsmen were well sot, and it was evident they were in for a score. Otago appeared to be fielding loosely, and a few balls were let go by. _ Paramor then bowled a maiden. Ollivier lifted one to M. Godby, but he refused the charce. Paramor bowled three successive maidens, and Ollivier then gave A. Godby a rather difficult catch, which he failed to secure, hj owler made four off Godby and Ollivier a single—eight from the over. Ollivier then played Para nor to the fence for two, and snicked him for a single. Tho telegraph hoard showed 160, and odds ware freely laid on Canterbury. Fowler played a pretty innings, aud never gave a single chance. K Fowler supplied the vacancy, and commenced by scoring a single off Paramor through A. Godby’s bad fielding. Before ho had been in many minutes he was very smartly caught behind tho wickets. '7— 2 - 183. Ashby joined Canterbury’s captain, and Lathhury took the bad from Godby. Rum continued apace and 200 was shown amidst great cheering. Oilivur, who had tempted all the fieldsmen, now gave H. Godby a difficult catch, but he was unequal to it, Downes relieved Latebmy and Al.
