MAILS CLOSE. Per Ladybird, on Saturday, July 31, as under Northern Ports of New Zealand, America, West Indies, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, via San Francisco, at 1.20 p.m. Late letters bearing one additional single rate may bo posted until 1.50 p.m. For issue of money orders and posting of registered letters and newspapers at 11,30 a.m. Northern Ports of .New Zealand and Fiji.— Per Star of the South, on Saturday, July 31, at 2.20 p.m. Timaru, Lyttelton, Christchurch, and Westland.—Per Beautiful Star, on Monday, August 2. at 1.50 p.m. Per s.s. Albion, on Monday, August 2, os under Direct mails for India, China, Japan, Penang, Singapore, Manilla, Aden, Mauritius, the British, French, and Austrian Post Offices at Alexandria, Malta, Gibraltar, Brindisi, France, &c., at 12 noon.

For New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland, and Tasmania, at 1 p.m. For Southland, Victoria, Loudon, via Southampton, and via Brindisi, and for correspondence for the Continent of Europe, &c., sent in London mails, at 1.30 p.m.
