RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Wednesday, July 21. (Before J. Bathgate, Esq., R.M.) London v. Smith and Smith v. London.—ln these cases his Worship gave judgment—in the first for defendant, with costa; in the second for plaintiff, for L 7 15s, with costs. In the following cases judgment went for the plaintiffs, with costs Francis M‘6rath v. Alex. M'Lennan, board and lodging, L 5 ; Thomas Linklater v. Alex. M‘Lennan, board and lodging, L 4.
Martin v, Smith.—This was a fraud summons for L 39s 9d. To enable the defendant to satisfy the claim, the case was adjourned till the 18th of August.
Iremiio v, Kjtchingham.—This was a judgment summons for L2O 15s. The defendant was ordered to pay 20s every four weeks. Janies Plunkett v. John Grant (Councillor). —Claim LBls 6d for cartage. The defendant paid L 5 11s 6d into Court. After hearing the evidence bis Worship gave judgment for the plaintiff for L 6 18s with costs. On the application of the defendant the witnesses’ expenses were not allowed, [Left sitting.]
