YORK PLACE.

To the Editor. Sik,—Now that there is a large sum of money granted by the Government to the Corporation for completing improvements iu York place, I think it would be advisable to take a few feet more of the rise leading into Russell street. The gradient is almost as steep as it was before, and if reduced more on a level with Russell street, it would greatly bsnefit the ratepayers around the neighborhood, who have at present in consequence to pay extras in the shape of express hire, cartage, &c. Let the Councillors of High Ward see to this important matter.—l am, Slc, Russell Street. Dunedin, July 16.
