Correspondence.

[Wo are not responsible for the opinions expressed by our correspondents,]

To the Editor of the Erenhuj Star.

Sir, —A letter appears in the issue of your contemporary this morning, which for scurrility and impertinence exceeds all the many mendacious effusions which have appeared in that journal lately. The diatribe in question commences by—“ The High street mol), &c.” Now, sir, as a citizen, and one too who also takes an interest in politics, 1 demur entirely to such epithets being used against any section or class in this city, and I maintain that the insertion of such epistles is calculated to condemn the'paper which inserts such insidious remarks, more especiajly when they are intended lobe levelled'against gentlemen who'l am convinced are put the rowdies who attend public meetings, and create disturbances. But the writer in question reports himself to bo one of those lynxeyed monsters who mean to take down the names of rowdies who may congregate to

listen to Mr Reid. I humbly trust he may be successful. But why did not this political mountebank take down the names of those M.P.C ’sand others who created the row at Mr Vogel’s meeting in the theatre ? was he one of the mob ? Truly, sir, we could almost be led to believe so from the whole tenor of his interesting and elegant lucubration, which appears prominent in the columns of what is called the leading journal of the Province—Bah ! Bounce.
