Wanganui, December 15, Mr John Hastings, second engineer of the Storm Bird, was killed this morning. The deceased was oiling the engines, and fell forward, the crunk striking his head. Death was instantaneous. The steamer put back and landed the body. An inquest will be held this afternoon.
