RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
This Day. (Before A. C. Strode, Esq , R. M.) ASSAULT. M'Leod v. Hamilton, alias Simms,—This case, which was set down for hearing on Thursday, and postponed on account of the defendant not answering the summons, was heard to-day. The defendant was brought up on warrant, and excused her non-appear-ance on the ground that the plaintiff had told her she would not prosecute. It w:s a woman’s quarrel, and very paltry. The defendant was fined 5s and costs.
