THEFT OF SUITING
Frederick John Stapleton, tally der"*' 32, was found guilty by a jury in the Supreme on Thursday afternoon, pi stealing a length of worsted suiting, the property of the Federal Steam Navigation Company. The evidence showed that the accused had been employed as a watchman on an overseas vessel. A case containing suiting was landed in a damaged condition and two rolls of material were found to be missingA suit length of material said to be identical with the missing -material was found later wrapped in newspaper in a sugar bag in the accused's garage. His explanation was that it had been left with him for custody by a ships cook, who had not returned for itMr. W. E. Leicester appeared for, tne accused, who was remanded for sentence.
