CALLING IN SUGGESTED

A notice of question to the Minister of Finance by Mr. J. B. F. CotteriU (Government, Wanganui) in the House of Representatives yesterday asked the Minister whether he would consider the calling in of all bank notes of oyer £5 in value and at the same time give the Commissioner of Taxes power to inquire into the origin of all notes of large denomination, for the purpose of determining whether taxation had been evaded.
