STUDENT NURSES

A milestone in the history of nursing in New Zealand has been the holding in Palmerston North of the first Student Nurses' Association conference. Delegates attended from all over the North Island. It was pointed out that the nursing profession in New Zealand today was representative of a larger number of women than any other profession.

North Island representatives on the Dominion executive were elected as follows: —Misses N. Douglas (Hamilton), E. McNicol (Auckland), J. M. Paterson (Palmerston North), M. Smith (Wellington). The South Island representatives are Misses C. Abraham (Christchureh), C. A. Collins (Dunedin), and M. Hardie (Westport). Miss Paterson was elected Dominion president. .
