WESTERN MAORI SEAT

Mr. Matenga Peka, of Eastbourne, has been nominated as an unofficial Labour candidate for the Western Maori electorate, at present represented in Parliament by Mr. Ratana. Mr. Peka, who is 41, had a legal training before becoming a member of the Otaki Borough Council's clerical staff. For some years he was in' business on his own account as a bus and taxi proprietor* in Otaki. Recently he joined the Eastbourne Borough Council's bus department. He is well known in Turf circles.
