TOWNHILL—JOHANSSON
•At St. Michael's and. All Angels', Kelburn, the marriage was recently solemnised of Dorothy Jen, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Johansson, Karori, and William, second son of Mr. and Mrs, J. E. Townhill, Johnsonville. The Rev. Gordon McKenzie officiated.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, wove an Empire gown of French crinkle crepe threaded with silver, the skirt being flared to form a graceful train. Her embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms, and her shower botfquet was of roses, lily of the valley, and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Hazel Bradnock and Miss Joyce Townhill, sister of the bridegroom. They were dressed alike in full-skirted frocks of lime green taffeta, featuring off-the-shoulder necklines. They carried bouquets in shades of cyclamen matching the tulle bows in their hair.
Mr. Keith Townhill was best man, and Mr. Waldemar Johansson groomsman.
After the ceremony the guests were welcomed at the bride's home by her mother, Mrs. Johansson, who wore a redingote ,coat of navy blue mariette, over a green and cyclamen /floral frock, a green Baku straw hat, and posy to tone. Mrs. Townhill, mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy blue ensemble coat over a floral frock, with a Bankok straw hat and a matching posy.
Mr. and Mrs. Townhill later left for the north, the A bride travelling in a lime green coat/with a prunella frock and accessories.
