HUTT VALLEY NEWS

"FULL HOUSE" AT THE R.S.A.

(From. "The Post's" Representative.)

That not a square inch of floor space was wasted last night at the final Lower Hutt R.S.A. dance preceding the annual ball augurs well for the success of this popular social event in the Hutt Valley. Planned for August 11, it has been for several years one of the largest and brightest functions of the winter season, and judging from the numerous applications received for, invitations, the attendance this year will eclipse all records.

Decorations of massed hydrangeas under a canopy of multi-coloured flags and streamers made a brilliant background for the many dancers last night, when an excellent orchestra was present to provide a varied programme of old-time melodies, modern quicksteps, and popular community dances. Mr. G. Page was master of ceremonies, and the executive -and ladies' committees combined in entertaining the guests and serving supper. Officers and committee members present included the president, Mr. A. E. Pattinson, the president of the ladies' organisation, Mrs. E. Goodman, Mesdames E. Woolley, G. Shand, F. Stedman, J. O'Meara, >P. McNicol, W.. Evans, D. Annear, H. Edwards, and Weggery, and Messrs. G. Page, D. Annear, P. McNicol, J. O'Meara, L. Hook, H. Edwards, W. Poad, F. Stunnell, C. Akers, and F. Smith.
