WELL-KNOWN FAMILIES

Two well-known families in Atickland and Christchurch were linked on Tuesday afternoon, when Miss Deidre Williams,; eldest daughter of Mrs. Euan Dickson, Remuera, and the late Mr. K. Williams, of Christchurch, was married to Mr. John Helmore, only son of Mrs. and the, late Mr. W. D. Helmore, of Christchui'ch, states the '-'New Zealand 5 : The ceremony took place in St. Paul's'Pro-Cathedral, Mulgrave Street, Canon Davies officiating.

Escorted by her brother, Mr. Garnet Williams, the bride wore a period frock of deep cream moire taffeta, fashioned with a cross-over bodice, and very full, flowing skirt. The tinted veil was of finger-tip length and was held to the head with a half circlet of oranee blossoms. A bouquet of cream freesias was carried.

The bridesmaid. Miss Sheila Macdonald, of Christchurch, wore a frock of embossed parchment brocade and circlet of golden leaves on her hair. She carried a bouquet of roses and cyclamens.

Mr. Heathcote Helmore was best man.

Following the ceremony, a small reception for relatives was held at the Midland Hotel Mrs. Euan Dickson, the bride's "mother, wore a black suit with furs and matching hat. Mrs. Helmore, I the bridegroom's mother, was in a black ensemble suit and black hat. The bride travelled in a black and white checked suit, furs, and black hat.
