WELLINGTON V. ONSLOW
Greater use of the outside backs auct a shade more mobility forward gave Wellington the advantage in their match with Onslow. Both sides did their best to produce attractive Kugby, and as far as curtain-raisers go it was an entertaining game. A few of the rearguard attacks, Especially by Wellington, were, in fact, considerably more effective than those which many top division sides have developed on Athletic Park. Territorially there was not much in it either way, but Wellington's sis tries were something with which Onslow just could not cope. The score, 24-lf>. was » fair reflection or the merits of the two teams. Cochrane (3), Bell, Sliand. and Davidson scored tries for Wellington, and Lang converted three. C. Thomas scored a try for Onslow, which L. Thomas converted. The latter also potted a goal and kiclsed two penalty goals. Tho refe'I*? was Sir. A. ft. Morice.
