MEMBER RESIGNS

SHEEP-FARMING COMMISSION

For private reasons, Mr. R. C. Todhunter, Methven, has resigned from the Royal Commission which was recently appointed to investigate the present position ;of the sheep-farming industry.

A deputation of members of Parliament from South Island electorates, in.which there are large areas of high country, has waited on the Acting Minister of Lands, the Hon. W. Lee Martin, and suggested an appointment to fill Mr,.Todhunter's place. Mr.'Martin said today that he was not in a position to announce the new member. .
