MOTOR CAMP
PROVISION AT MIRAMAR
GOLF NOT FAVOURED
Pleasure at the decision of the Wellington City Council to set aside An area at the Glen, Miramar, for a motor camp for Wellington was expressed in the report of the roads committee presented to the monthly meeting of the Automobile Association (Wellington) last night. Concern was expressed in the report about a suggestion by an officer of the council that the area j should be adapted for use as a golf j I course I The committee contended that the ■ area should be set aside for exclusive use as a motor camp because otherwise campers would be depi'ived of desirable privacy and if more than one section had an interest in the area conflict might arise. "It will be found if a satisfactory camp is constructed/ the report stated, "that there will be visitors to it over most periods of the year, and the roads committee recommends that representations should be made to the council to confine the use of the area entirely to that of a motor camp." The report was adopted.
