TECHNICAL COLLEGE

PREFECTS' REUNION DANCE

Since the Golden Jubilee of the Technical College in 1936, past and present prefects of the college have made an annual custom of holding a reunion dinner each year.

On Tuesday evening in the Elm Tea Rooms this year's reunion ran its happy course. Bright speeches, gay songs, and the friendliest of atmospheres carried the first part of the programme along. The remainder of the evening was scheduled for dancing but one and all preferred the homely meeting of old friends and in the case of the younger people a hearty round-the-piano sing-song. Mr. Will Appleton, chairman of the board of governors, and an old student, in addressing a few remarks, expressed surprise at the large attendance and declared that such a gathering spoke volumes for the spirit of the college.

Other speakers were Mr. L. Carr, Mr. R. G. Ridling, Mr. B. Orchiston, Mr. F. H. Paul, Mr. J. H. Howell, Mr. N. Sutton, and Mr. K. Dunning. The toasts honoured were "The College," "Past and Present Masters," and "Past and Present Students."
