MINORITIES IN RUMANIA
GERM OF TROUBLE
, POSSIBLE AGITATION
LONDON, October 5.
The germ of yet another dispute over the vexed question of Central European minorities is indicated by messages from Rumania concerning the result of the Munich settlement.
Though .there has been no comment so far in the strictly-controlled Press, Reuters' Bucharest correspondent says that authoritative circles believe that the success of the Sudetens may lead to agitation among Rumanian minorities comprising Hungarians and German's domiciled .in Transylvania and the Carpathians and Bulgarians in the Dobruja and south-east Rumania on the Bulgarian border. Officials maintain, however, that it will be possible to satisfy the minorities without outside intervention.
It is expected that King Carol will await .clarification of the European situation before altering the Ministry. Diplomatic circles are of the opinion that when this occurs the new Prime Minister will be of Rumanian-Tran-sylvanian origin from the district peopled by the Hungarians and Germans.
M. Alexander Vaida, the Nationalist Monarchist leader, is the most likely candidate. On the other hand, it is pointed out that the present Prime Minister, the Patriarch Miron Christea, is also a Transylvanian.
