SHEEPSKIN SALES
DEMAND IN DUNEDIN
Catalogues of sheepskins offered at the Dunedin sales yesterday totalled about 15,000 skins. Competition was brisk on all sound-pelted lines and good faulty pelts, although price limits were strictly adhered to. Short-wool-led, dead, and seedy sorts were not so well sought for, lack of competition from Central Europe for these grades being noticeable. Prices were on a par with those of the last sale held in Dunedin, with the exception of short-woolled faulty grades and seedy sorts, which were «bout £d to Id cheaper. Following is the official price range:—
Halfbred, full-wool, to B£d; halfbred three-quarter-wool, to B|d; halfbred half-wool, to 7Jd; halfbred quar-ter-wool, to s|d. Fine crossbred, fullwool, to 8d; fine crossbred three-quarter-wool, to 7|d; fine crossbred, quarter-wool, to 4£d. Crossbred fullwool, to 7|d; crossbred three-quarter-wool, to 73-d; crossbred half-wool, to 7d; crossbred quarter-wool to 4fd; halfbred hoggets, to 7|d; crossbred hoggets, to 7£d; halfbred lambs, to 6fd; crossbred lambs, to 6|d; merinos, to Bsd; first pelts, to 3d; second pelts, to 2£d.
