(By Telegraph—Press Association.) I " ASHBURTON, This Day, For the first time since the election campaign started in Mid-Canterbury the serenity of a candidate's meeting was disturbed last night. When Mr. A. N. Grigg (Nationalist) was addressing a meeting at Dromore two men were responsible for heckling from the [Outset, the candidate's voice beingi
inaudible at one stage, causing a member of the quieter section of the audience to walk over to the hecklers and threaten to expel them.
After his speech Mr. Grigg created amusement by taking the principal interjector to the front of the hall and announcing that he would address the meeting. A motion of thanks and confidence was carried with two or three dissentients.
