"ABUSE OF THE RADIO"
In answer to an inter jector who asked what the National Party was going to do about "Uncle Scrim," Mr. Mazengarb, speaking at Taita last night, said that it would not exact any reprisals but would pass a law permanently neutralising the use of the wireless, so that never again would it be possible for one man or one party of men to abuse their trust as the custodians of State property. "All people who have the slightest knowledge of international affairs," said the speaker, "are able to see that the microphone is always the spearhead of a dictatorship. The abuse of the radio is worse than cheating; it is more than taking a mean advantage of the Leader of the Opposition; it is a bold step forward to a dictatorship."
