HOSPITAL CLUB
Mr. E. Jeffery presided over the annual meeting of the Hospital (Forirua) Cricket Club, at which the following officers were elected: —Patron, Dr. T. G. Gray; president, Dr. B. D. Hart; vice-presidents, Dr. R. G. Lewis, Messrs. M. Quill, R. W. Bothamley, P. Riordan, C. Russell, W. Skinner, and R. Stewart, and the Rev. Mr. Harding; captain, Mr. H. Trewick; vice-captain, Mr. X Jeffery; delegate to W.C.A., Mr. E. Jeffery; hon. auditor, Mr. P. Riordon; scorer, Mr W. Boyd; hon. secretary, Mr. S. Brown. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the retiring secretary, Mr. Bannin, who had held this office for the past ten years. Mr. E. Jeffery was the recipient of a suitably inscribed gold medal in recognition of his having topped the batting and bowling average lists for the 1937-38 season.
