The Hutt railway apprentice, team'defeated the Addington apprentices at Strand Park by 25 points to'2l. The "teams were:—Addington: Sellars (captain) ; Miller, Robinson, Taylor; Scully, Wingham; Farmer; Morris, Blake, Butterworth, Brown, O'Gorman, Sturrock, Cartwright, Sutherland. Emergencies: James, Dallison. Hutt: J. Cosgrove; H.-Marsden (captain), B: SimpsonoC Tregurtha; J. Jones, J. Skerton; - w. Cooper; J. McKay, J. Mullany, T. Walker, L. Herbert, J. Haughj.L.- Jorgenson, J. Kemp, D. O'Connor. Emergencies: T. Dunn, R. Jones. Mr; Parker was the referee. For Hutt Marsden scored three tries and Simpson, Jones, and Cooper one each, Jones converting two and. kicking a penalty goal. For Addington Robinson scored two tries and Scully one. Sellars kicked a field goal and Sutherland two penalty goals as well as . a goal from a try. The .score at halftime was: Hutt 25, Addington 3; . Addington made a remarkable recovery and had Hutt defending during most of the second half, in which they were unlucky not to gain winning points. Hutt has now won the O'Connor Cup twice, last year's match being drawn.
